Our Memorable Trip to San Diego!

This is definitely the highlight of our trip-- but we had so many fun adventures in this week-long roadtrip getaway this summer! :)
Tyler had an awesome time swimming with the dolphins! This was his birthday present, and it was worth every penny-- he was more giddy than a little kid on Christmas! This trip showed me even more just how very much this sweetheart loves animals.
I was amazed at how high this dolphin jumped! But only when Tyler gave the signal-- must be Tyler's height! And luckily, Tyler was actually able to go swim with the dolphins! There is a long, worry-filled story before this actually got to happen! I had the date wrong on the computer, and it was scheduled for July 2nd! When we showed up on July 4th, and said they were full and we had the wrong day, I was soooooo heartbroken for him! That's what this trip was all about! But the nice people at Sea World work something out for us. They invited us both back to pet and play with the dolphins, and they are so playful! I'll have to swim with dolphins one day too!
The fabulous news, as you can tell from above, is that there was miraculously ONE opening that came up for the next day, so we made a return trip to Sea World before coming home! Totally worth it. :) We took off for San Diego after I finished my last day of school, packed up the car, and picked up Tyler! There was a fire in Herriman that JUST started that afternoon, and we drove through another few fires that caused quite the scene on our south on I-15. We were excited to be going to the cooler ocean area of San Diego! Tyler was running on adrenaline, and made it all the way to Las Vegas before we stopped for the night. We found a nice hotel away from the strip, and we even went swimming the next morning! Then it was back on the road, San Diego or bust! How exciting when we saw the ocean!!! We even came upon the San Diego, unexpectedly, and noticed it when it was practically in our laps! What a gorgeous, huge temple! That evening when we arrived, we checked out a fun restaurant called "Hash House" that sister Kelly told us about. Yum! Waffles with bacon, fried chicken, syrup... Tyler was in heaven! We were going to share, but I decided I better order a salad! That night we checked out the area and drove to our hotel- a nice place near Sea World and not far from the Zoo! Sunday we went to church in a nice ward, enjoyed their beautiful testimony meeting and fellowship, then went to get pictures by the temple. We had an awesome picnic lunch after at La Jolla beach, where we could sit on the grass near the edge of a cliff overlooking the ocean. Aaaah. This was the life!
