My Prince Has Come!

Isn't he cute?!?!?

Well, it has been a very long time since I updated the blog, and the last time I did, I didn't mention the wonderful man I was dating. But much has happened over the last few months, and my mom challenged me today to update my blog!

I have felt so blessed with miracles this year, and I have learned so much through trials and experiences. I feel so indebted to my Savior. Back in March I had the nudge to try and meet guys to date-- even though I didn't feel ready to meet anyone with my eye still closed! But I tried meeting people online so I could get to know other men and see where that could lead. I started communicating with a great guy who had a very similar background and ideals. We met up for our first date, and I was so impressed! I felt very comfortable and happy with him, and he later told me that he felt so at peace about me when we met. We both served missions, love the gospel, have worked in the temple, play the piano, love kids, love the outdoors, and to top it off- he is even tall! His name is Tyler Kendrick, and I am excited for you all to meet him!

So to sum it up and get to the point-- we are engaged! We got engaged July 19th, on his birthday, in front of the Timpanogas temple, which is just a block from his home. We are getting married November 5th-- exactly a year after I discovered in 2010 that I had a brain tumor! It is incredible to feel such complete love from and for someone, and we are excited to start our eternal companionship together. With both of us being single until this age (me at 33, and he at 35), we must have had to accomplish a few things before this most important step of our lives! We are so grateful to our Heavenly Father for leading us to one another. People ask, "How did you meet?" and I say "online," but what I should really be saying is: "By the grace of God!" When I have so much to feel thankful for this year, I am completely overwhelmed with gratitude to have Tyler come into my life. It has truly been a year of miracles!

I also just got back two weeks ago from an incredible trip- my first time to Europe, and with my parents and friend Keri to see the land of my ancestors! I loved it! But for now, I'm sorry I don't have oodles of time to share. With school and wedding plans, I will have to be more brief than I would like to! But thanks for reading!

I will also give more updates and info about Tyler and I as we get closer, and eventually.... this blog will be the "Kendrick" blog! :)

Oh my goodness! Yay!!! Congratulations. This news just made my day. Can't wait for the boys to get home from school so I can tell them. Does this mean you'll be moving to American Fork? My parents live just across the field from the temple there. Beautiful picture of both of you, by the way!

I am so, so, so excited for you! Nobody deserves this more than you. You have taught me so many lessons on faith, friendship and being positive in the face of trails. Congratulations and best wishes for the future! (And what a lucky guy to be marrying such an amazing girl!)
