SHALOME FROM ISRAEL!

Hello all! Things are going well so far here in Israel! The plane travels went safe and I felt no headaches or problems from the tumor! The medicines seem to be working well. Things are pretty blurry in the right eye, but I'm still able to read, see people, etc. Saturday flew by-- literally! We were on a plane sleeping the day away (if we were lucky)-- until about 2:30 p.m. Israel time when we landed! I have enjoyed the group of people we are with so much already.

I had fun preparing for and giving a presentation on the gathering of Israel after we toured the city of Joppa and talked about Jonah in the whale. It's exciting to think all that's happening with the gathering before the 2nd Coming will happen!

Today, Sunday, it is like a Monday here. They observe the Sabbath on Saturday in Israel, so we won't attend church until this coming Saturday. I enjoyed a beautiful morning jog with another great gal in our group next to the Mediterranean Sea to start the day. We all then headed to see the amazing Netanya college, Caesarea, and beautiful Haifa! The sobering and spiritual experience we had in Haifa was visiting the graves of two LDS missionaries who served many years ago in this land. We sang "Called to Serve" and I had difficulty choking back tears. Such a sweet spirit there, and I know they would appreciate our paying tribute and taking a little time to remember them. It also reminded me of the great blessing of being a part of the greatest work on the earth- missionary work.

I've had several other enlightening thoughts today as we have visited the traditional site on the south hills of Carmel where Elijah called on God to consume with fire the sacrifice. The power of God shown in his duel with the prophets was one of the many miracles shown to thwart worldly or man's power. I also was touched as we read the story of Mary, as she had an angel appear to her in Nazareth, telling her of the child she would soon bear. I love how this sweet scripture testifies of Christ's lineage. We also discussed the first recorded miracle Christ performed, as he was in Cana, and turned the water to wine for all the guests. My own mother has entertained many guests before, and what a good example the Savior set by doing anything he could to act in her behalf. He also is the giver of miracles. Something I am coming to love and appreciate more and more about Him.

I love my Savior so much, and as we drove tonight near the Sea of Galilee, I got even more excited, realizing I am here to feel of His love and learn more of Him.

I will try to update more soon! Thanks to my mom and Laura for their help in this! :) And thank you for all your prayers that I might be well and whole during this trip. I truly feel your prayers and strength, and I am grateful, because I know the spiritual high I am gaining from this trip will help carry me through more ahead!
