Well, Janelle has been checked into the hospital again. She's had many nurses and doctors asking a gillion questions, run a bunch of tests, and trying to find out why she is still so sick after 11 days. Nausea is normal after brain surgery, but not this long afterwards and not so sick! She's had at least 7 doctors today asking her tons of questions, interrogating her about this and that, and checking her right eye, talking and consulting with each other here in her room. At this point, they think she needs fluids, anti-nausea medicine and salt! They are trying to supplement her with minerals in case her electrolytes are out of balance causing this intense sickness.
Her nausea has been with her all day, but she hasn't been as sick here as she was all night long at home. We'll see if that helps her.
The endocrinologist doctor here at IMC, smiled when he saw Janelle again. After talking, taking her vitals, and discussing things he said to her which made her smile, "If I have to hire a herd a reindeer, we'll have you out of here by Christmas." Nice! She'd been pretty emotional earlier when the doctors in ER told her they would be admitting her. She doesn't want to be here for Christmas!
When he was talking with the neurosurgeons, they checked her right eye. The doctors seemed discouraged and disappointed, as Jon & I were, to find that she couldn't see out of it. She hadn't noticed before on her own since the eyelid has been shut because of the affect on the third nerve. She came back with a comment later to me, that it's going to be quite the miracle when that heals. Sweet faithful Janelle.
