I'm Gettin' Married in the Morning!

It was fun to get a cute call from my long-time friend growing up today, saying she is so excited for me, and will be singing "I'm getting married in the morning!" I'm so grateful for family and friends who have supported me throughout my life, who have been there and mourned with me, and those who have been so excited with me through this engagement. I can hardly believe tomorrow I will become a wife, and I will have a husband! Of course, the HUGE snowstorm makes the excitement even more tangible! I pray all the family and friends traveling will be safe and free of harm!

As I sit here, on my "last night" at home, I think about Father of the Bride (a family favorite of ours for YEARS!), when she couldn't sleep and went out to play basketball... and she just couldn't sleep and had so many thoughts with it being her last night at home! Oh, and funny to remember, that it snowed on her wedding day too! I am so grateful for my dad. He said the other night that it's hard to marry off one of his daughters again-- even though he's already done it twice! I love my dad so much, and I'm grateful for the beautiful father's blessing he gave me last night to prepare for this time of my life. It is quite a turning point, and ready or not, this is it! I know Tyler is the right one, that this is the right time, and that our sealing in the temple will be the right place, and by the right authority. During my dad's blessing, I got emotional to realize how blessed I've been and where I am at this point! My dad has helped organize our address list and has been so supportive and in-tune with the Spirit in the advice he has given me!

My mom has been such an incredible support. I honestly don't think I could count the numberless things she has done for me in preparing for this day. And I don't think I could fully describe her complete joy at my finding the man of my dreams! She and my dad have prayed so much for this. Words can't describe my mother's incredible love and dedication to my happiness. She has been there with me through all of my decision making, to help me know WHAT I need to decide on and work on, and she has put up with my weird moods and my complaining about bad headaches through it all too! This day is happening because of her efforts! She's the best!!

Tyler and I have prayed for this great day to come as well, and here it is! I love you so much, Tyler, and I'm grateful you are the one I get to spend eternity with! Thank you for waiting for me! I'm so grateful for the many lessons I have been able to learn with being single until 33. I have been blessed to teach 10 years of school to great kids, to travel many places I might never have dreamed of, to work several years in two different temples, and to learn so much through physical challenges. I think of the Carrie Underwood song, "Lessons Learned" as I reflect on what has helped me to this point. I pray I will remember these lessons to better my marriage with Tyler, and that I will learn all I came from this sweet, Christlike man I feel so blessed to be sealed to! Just 11 hours away now!

I keep thinking about how lucky the ward you are going to move into is. If Tyler is anywhere near as spiritual as you are, that ward is going to be blessed indeed. Hope you are having fun in St George!
