Mom called and said they were going to be checking Janelle out of the hospital today. YAY! She said Janelle was doing MUCH better and could hardly believe it was the same person as yesterday. She was dehydrated, among other things, and they simply put an IV in her and pumped her full of fluids and salt. Mom picked up a bunch of gatorade to keep her hydrated in case she gets sick again. She hasn't eaten real food yet, but they hope now that she's feeling better, she'll be able to slowly eat again and hold it down. Then hopefully it's back on the road to recovery!
Mom said this tonight on her CarePages:
Home again, home again, jiggety jig! I have my daughter back! What a dramatic change....it's almost too unbelievable! I think we've turned the corner and jumped the fence on the road to recovery. She's taken two giant steps forward (thanks Mark!)
She is alert, happy, sitting up, smiling, talking, EATING, just so much better! Apparently she was dehydrated and her sodium count was very low. After having IV's for 24 hours giving her doses of sodium, and drugs for her symptoms, she has energy, enthusiasm, controlled head pain and nausea. She's become my Janelley again.
I cried on the way home when I heard the words coming from a CD playing: "In the midst of affliction, my table is spread, with blessings unmeasured, my cup runneth over..." We have truly been blessed. She is so much better, it seems like a miracle. I'm pretty sure that as long as she stays this way, she can have visitors, phone calls, and enjoy the holidays.
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE! Mine came today!
