Confessions of An Aging Body

Well, if you are up for a funny story- an embarrassing one, of course (this is ME we are talking about)- then sit back and enjoy! Last Wednesday morning, I was feeling great that I got up by 6:00 am to go outside for a morning run. I've been wanting to shed some pounds and feel better about how I look! This 30-year-old body is hard to keep fit! Well, the weather was nice, but unfortunately, the sun wasn't up quite yet! There were several street lamps on, though, so I found my way. After about 40 minutes, while I was on a sidewalk, I looked down at my phone to check the time, and what do you know.... WHAM! A tree branch hit me head on-- scraped deep across my nose, and all along my cheek under my left eye! (Yes, I should count my blessings my eyes are okay!) All I could think was, "Oh, man, that's going to leave a big mark!" It wasn't painful actually, but very disheartening! Just when I'm trying to look better about how I look... ironic, huh? In fact, the moments up to this incident I was thinking, "I need to find a better moisturizer for my face; the one I have doesn't seem to work so well." Well, after this, dry skin soon became the least of my problems! The students all day at school had to look at the bright red marks across my face, but you gotta love kids, because they said something once, and that's all I heard the rest of the day! I appreciated the sympathy from the co-workers, and we are working on getting the healing process to move as quickly as possible! I think vanity is something I'm shown I shouldn't have much of... look where it leads me! Another funny side note... my friend Kami decided to go running with me every morning,.. did she know what danger she was getting herself into?

Doh! Of course it didn't hurt - you don't even cry when you break your wrist! Hopefully the healing goes quickly. And remember - only go running when it's light outside!

Funny story Janelle, in a sad sort of way. Hope you got some good pics of it. Is it healing up now? WE NEED TO DO SOMETHING TOGETHER SOON!

Maybe your friend wants to go running with you to protect you from yourself. And there's a difference between vanity and wanting to take care of yourself. You, my dear, are trying to do the latter. If you got a boob job, then we would worry about ya. :o)

HAHA! That story is so funny! I could just picture it happening. Things like that happen all the time to me. I just laugh about them. I'm glad you can too.
